Shadow Box Table
I had so much fun with this project!  I was making this for one of my most favorite people in the world, my sister! I bought this table with no idea what I was going to do with it, but for $10.00 I couldn't pass it up.
I had thought about making it into a ottoman, but after looking at the price of foam and picking myself up off the floor, decided to go another direction.  This shadow box table was what I decided on.
First I add some braces made out of 1x2 lumber

Then I added a piece of MDF for the bottom.  You don't need to use expensive plywood because you want see the MDF.

I add a bead of caulk along the seam.

Primed and painted.  I sanded the table a little just to give the paint something to hold onto.

I got this paper from Marshall, it's wrapping paper!  I used Mod to apply it to the surface. Make sure you use the one for furniture.
Add a little decorative trim and

Tadaaa!   A beautiful table you can use to display pictures, shells or what ever tickles your fancy!
